Lest we forget
We celebrated the ANZAC Easter weekend in 2011 in the outback with horses and planting trees.
Alice McClure, Graham Hudson and daughter Abbie, and Janie and grandson Harry Ashby, planted all sorts of trees at the Musheroo Homestead on Nelyambo Sydney Road. The old Musheroo Homestead is being slowly resurrected with style, class and a touch of wildness by Janie and her team. Once mature, these trees will not only add majesty to the homestead, but also hold the honour of being remembered as Musheroo Homestead’s 2011 ANZAC trees. Continue reading

The School of the Air broadcast their first ever radio lesson using the transmitter at the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Base at Alice Springs.
The first Australian university was founded in Sydney.
Australians started the ‘Chop Picnic’ — build a fire under a flat piece of metal between a couple of rocks or bricks and cook a few chops on it — beginning the tradition of the great Aussie barbeque.

In 2008, Rural Organics was invited to give a presentation at the IFOAM Organic World Congress (OWC) only occurs every three years. It is the largest and most important meeting of the organic sector and an honour to be invited.
We arrived in Modena, Italy via Bologna and Rome Saturday June 14th 2008.

Chrissie, the oldest of the McClure Daughters, recently gained her Master of of Teaching in Primary Education, she already has her Bachelor of Nursing. On completion of her nursing degree, she assisted in operating rooms at the Womens and Childrens Hospital in Adelaide. Whilst in the outback she was always there to assist her people in times of accident or illness. Continue reading
